What meet and greet actually is — and what can go wrong
The product is simple: forecourt handover, secure off-airport compound, forecourt return. The time saving is real — about ten minutes from arriving to being inside the terminal, against thirty for park and ride, plus the same again on return.
What can go wrong is worth stating plainly, because most pages selling this product do not. Your car is driven twice by someone else and stored for the week somewhere you have not seen. The overwhelming majority of these bookings pass without incident. The ones that do not almost always involve unaccredited operators booked through an unnamed listing on a price-comparison site. Booking a named operator with checkable Park Mark accreditation removes most of that exposure, and completing the condition check and mileage record at both ends removes most of the rest.

Who meet and greet is worth it for
Early departures where a shuttle wait in the dark is the difference between calm and stressed. Families with small children or a pushchair. Travellers with mobility limitations, for whom the car park walk is the barrier rather than the cost — and at Gatwick, valet at £48 is actually cheaper than the airport's own Long Stay at £62. Tight connections at Heathrow, where terminal distances are punishing.
It is not worth it for a solo traveller with hand luggage, for a long stay where the daily rate matters more than the transfer, or at a small airport like Southend or Exeter where the car parks are close enough that valet solves a problem that does not exist.
